Macreddin Golf Club, County Wicklow, Ireland Designed by Roger Jones Golf Design in conjunction with European Ryder Cup golfer Paul McGinley, Macreddin Golf club is an 18-hole course set in an area of outstanding natural beauty in Co. Wicklow, Ireland. The course opened for play in 2007 and has received much critical acclaim both for its design and for the quality of the playing surfaces. the 12th is the course signature hole - a beautiful par 4 framed by mature pine trees aproaching the green. Measuring 6,366 metres from the back teeing areas the course has the potential to challenge all standards of golfer as well as being enjoyable. The golf course has added to the overall product offered in Ireland's first and only organic village, Macreddin Village. The village features the 4-star Brooklodge hotel, Wells Spa, Strawberry Tree Restaurant and Actons Pub as well as a wide range of other amenities and acivities which include shops, a bakery and smokehouse, an equestrian centre, an off-road driving centre and other adventure sports. The course was developed for a privately-owned Irish company.  |
