Ring of Kerry Golf Club, Kerry, Ireland![]() In a stunning location overlooking Kenmare bay in Ireland, Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club was designed from an original concept by the famous Irish golf designer, the late Eddie Hackett. The 18-hole course was developed on a very difficult site which had to undergo major earthworks to create terraces for many of the faiways and had no existing site topsoil. On behalf of the developrs, Roger Jones Golf Design made the decision to import local sand to provide the fairway rootzone material. This was the first time that this had been done in Ireland, and although it incurred a considerable additional development cost for the developers, it was successful. The course first opened in 1998 and has received generous reviews, including; "The Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club is one of my favourite courses in Ireland with its stunning views, challenging layout and great hospitality." - Sir Ian Botham, Sky Sports Commentator and former England Cricket Captain "A superb course set amidst the finest scenery in the world." - Sir Terry Wogan, BBC Television and Radio Presenter "I have played most of the major championship courses in the world and none betters the Ring of Kerry" - Philip Walton, former Ryder Cup player Since frst opening the golf facility has been supplemented wth a number of holiday villas and a golf practice range. ![]() |
